Amerlin Delinois.......................Amelien was born in Cayes Haiti in 1958. His father was a farmer and his mother a vendor. He was trained as a mechanic, went to live in Port au Prince and became a "bossmecanic", then a truck driver, but never stop painting. Coming to his garage, one lady customer who has a gallery in Washington DC was intrigued by him. He painted a picture for her " Un Ti Moun Kap Monte Cap" (child flying a kite). Since then, the Bolivar Art Gallery has bought his canvases. He has a large family and is proud of his two trades..........................."There are no painters in my family. When I was working as a mechanic, a persontook a look at my drawings and talked to me about painting. I sent her to buy some tubes of paint for me. I didn't know where to buy them. I have worked alone. A gallery rejected my first paintingdown and I threw it away. Then I gave some to friends. In the end, the galleries started to buy, and now I sell a lot. Painting is my passion, but I still work as a mechanic. I see many things in my painting. I work, oh, how I love it".
